Data Sources and Calculations
A transparent record of which values come from a provider, which calculations are produced by this site, and where the timetable should not be used.
The daily prayer table is based on monthly calendar responses from the AlAdhan Prayer Times API. Prayer Time Riyadh is an independent informational website and is not affiliated with AlAdhan, a mosque, or a Saudi government authority.
Provider Request
The server requests a calendar by city, country, year, and month. It sends method ID 4 for Umm Al-Qura (Makkah), school ID 0 for the standard Asr juristic rule, and asks the provider for ISO-formatted timing data. The returned timezone and local calendar date are kept with the prayer values.
What This Site Calculates
The following information is derived locally from the daily timetable:
- The next prayer and live countdown in the displayed city timezone.
- The duration from Fajr to Maghrib and the gaps between selected prayers.
- Seven-day Maghrib movement and monthly earliest/latest summaries.
- Qibla bearing from Riyadh using the published coordinates of Riyadh and the Kaaba.
These calculations add practical context, but they do not alter the provider's prayer start values.
Cache and Availability Rules
Monthly responses are cached so a short provider outage does not immediately remove the timetable. If a valid city calendar is unavailable and there is no usable cache, the site does not substitute Riyadh values for another Saudi city. The page instead marks the schedule and derived countdown as unavailable.
What the Timetable Does Not Provide
Citywide prayer-start calculations are not the same as a mosque's adhan, iqamah, Friday khutbah, Ramadan announcement, moon-sighting decision, or Eid schedule. Confirm those details with the mosque or relevant authority before travelling or joining a congregation.
