Methodology

This page explains how Prayer Time Riyadh sources prayer data, reviews output, and handles corrections.

Prayer Time Riyadh is intended to be a transparent daily reference. That means every visitor should be able to understand where the timetable comes from, what assumptions it uses, and when local mosque guidance should take priority.

How Timings Are Produced

  • Prayer times shown for Riyadh are requested from the AlAdhan monthly calendar API with method ID 4 (Umm Al-Qura, Makkah) and school ID 0 (standard Asr rule).
  • The request contains the city, country, year, and month. We cache the returned monthly calendar, select the requested city's local date, and display the provider timezone beside the table.
  • Countdowns, Fajr-to-Maghrib duration, prayer-to-prayer intervals, and weekly movement notes are calculated by this site from the returned daily values.
  • For Jumu'ah, Ramadan moon-sighting differences, Eid announcements, and mosque-specific iqamah schedules, local mosque guidance should always take priority over any general timetable website.

Calendar values are supplied by the AlAdhan Prayer Times API. See the data sources page for request parameters, caching, derived calculations, and unavailable-data behavior.

Editorial Approach

  • We prioritize fast daily lookup, readable mobile layouts, and explicit calculation-method disclosure.
  • We label provider data separately from calculations produced by this site and do not present mosque iqamah times as general citywide prayer starts.
  • We review correction requests manually, compare the city, date, method, and cited source, and update the timetable logic or explanatory note when evidence supports a change.
  • The current editorial and policy review date is 18 July 2026.

When to Follow Local Mosque Guidance

Local mosque or official religious authority guidance should override this site for Jumu'ah congregation timing, Ramadan start and end, Eid prayer times, and any local observation-based adjustments. A general timetable website should support those decisions, not replace them.

Why Riyadh Is the Main Focus

Riyadh is the primary daily timetable. The directory is limited to a small set of Saudi cities because visitors need city-specific dates and solar calculations, not a large list of interchangeable pages. Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Dammam are published separately because each has its own city calculation and local verification context.

How to Request a Correction

  • Send the city, date, and the exact prayer that appears incorrect.
  • Include the mosque, official authority, or timetable you used for comparison.
  • Use the contact email on this site to report the issue and include the evidence used for comparison.

Correction requests can be sent to contact@prayertimeriyadh.org.
